Alisha is a 16-year-old freelance poet, who was born and raised in Manchester. She uses writing as a way for her to improve her wellbeing and to manage her feelings. Writing about her personal experiences in a creative way has helped her tackle challenges and gives her a better understanding of what she’s going through. Alisha is also the project manager of Open Minds but Silent Sounds, a creative project for young people who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
I’ll be talking to Alisha about poetry and creativity, as well as her inspiring Open Minds but Silent Sounds project. And, of course, she’ll be sharing her selections for this week’s Apocalypse Books.
Tune in on Saturday at 2pm on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
