North Manchester FM: Hannah’s Bookshelf, Saturday 12 November, 2-4pm

Join me on Saturday at 2pm for Hannah’s Bookshelf on North Manchester FM. This week, my guest will be the fab Pete Slater.

Pete is an art college dropout from the seventies. An accidental poet, he has been writing for about six years now and has been performing for around five and a half – smitten since discovering performance poetry, something he didn’t know existed until he met two guys called The Nearly Dead Poets. Since then he has shared his words at various venues around the North West and beyond, collaborated with an old friend to perform spoken word with cigar box guitar as Muse ‘n’ Blues, and recorded a CD. He has also been working with Insyt Media to share and fuse poetry with young rappers, MCs and beatboxers.

I’ll be talking to Pete about his work – and about poetry in general. And, of course, he’ll be sharing his selections for Apocalypse Books in the second hour of the show.

Tune in on Saturday at 2pm on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
