Hannah Kate

poet, short story writer and editor based in Manchester

North Manchester FM: Hannah’s Bookshelf, Saturday 18 March, 2-4pm

Tune in on Saturday at 2pm for Hannah’s Bookshelf on North Manchester FM. This week, I’ll be chatting (transatlantically) to the lovely Jan M. Flynn.

Jan lives in California’s Napa Valley (and yes, she loves wine) with her husband Michael, an actor, and her dog Molly, a con artist. Jan is the author of Corpse Pose: And Other Tales, a collection of Twilight Zone-esque short stores, which was released on Amazon’s Kindle Select in January, 2017. Other work appears in literary journals including Midnight Circus, The Binnacle, and 2017’s Noyo River Review, as well as anthologies. ‘Cord’, a tale placed in an alternative, haunted American past, appears in Into The Woods. Her short stories have won both First Place and Honorable Mentions in Writer’s Digest annual competitions. Her debut novel The Moon Ran After Her is based on the experiences of women in her extended family who survived the Armenian Genocide, and she’s at work on another historical novel and more short stories.

I’ll be talking to Jan about speculative and historical fiction, her writing, and – very exciting – she’ll be reading a extract from her short story ‘Cord’. And, of course, Jan will be sharing her selections for this week’s Apocalypse Books.

Catch us at 2pm on Saturday on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
