North Manchester FM: Hannah’s Bookshelf, Saturday 1st April, 2-4pm

Tune in this Saturday at 2pm for Hannah’s Bookshelf on North Manchester 106.6FM. This week, my guest will be the fab Grace Timperley.

Grace is currently studying part-time at the University of Manchester for a PhD in medieval literature. Her project concentrates on lost heirs and disinheritance in the Middle English romance genre. In 2013, she began working for Manchester Cathedral, where she went on to find some links between the rich medieval fabric of the building and her University research. In 2017 Grace moved from the Cathedral to work in Communications for Dimensions, an organisation supporting people with Autism and Learning Disabilities. During her PhD studies she has also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Manchester, introducing undergraduate students to Beowulf and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.

I’ll be talking to Grace about romance, her work at Manchester Cathedral and other medieval things. And, as always, she’ll be sharing her selections for this week’s Apocalypse Books.

Catch us on Saturday at 2pm on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
