North Manchester FM: Hannah’s Bookshelf, Saturday 6 March, 2-4pm

Join me on Saturday at 2pm on North Manchester FM for more News, Reviews and Short Interviews on Hannah’s Bookshelf. Here’s what’s coming up on this week’s show…

A review of a novel by Jonathan Young and Dennis HoughtonI’ll be talking about Key to Yesterday, a new novel (partly set in Manchester) by local authors Jonathan Young and Dennis Houghton.

An interview with Lucy Hounsom I first interviewed Lucy in August 2017. She is the author of The Worldmaker Trilogy, and her first book, Starborn, was shortlisted in the 2016 Gemmell Awards for Best Fantasy Debut. Her fourth book, Sistersong, a reimagining of the folk tale ‘The Twa Sisters’ is set in Devon and is published by Pan Macmillan in 2021. And in case you were wondering, Lucy’s Apocalypse Books selections were The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling, and Middlemarch by George Eliot.

A review of a new book by Ramsey CampbellI’ll be reviewing The Searching Dead, a new novel by horror legend Ramsey Campbell (out now from Flame Tree Press).

And What Are You Reading?… the section of the show where I ask writers about the books they’re reading at the moment. This week I’ve got another selection of reviews and recommendations. And if you’re a writer who’d like to take part, check out this post with details on how to join in!

Plus… you can hear my round-up of news from the World of Words. If you’ve got a news story you’d like to share, please use the News Form to submit it to the show. For review requests, please get in touch via the Contact Form.

Catch Hannah’s Bookshelf on Saturday at 2pm on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
