North Manchester FM: A Helping of History, Tuesday 4 December, 12-2pm

Join me on Tuesday at 12 on North Manchester FM for another Helping of History. This week, I’ll be talking to Celia Cropper from Friends of Broadhurst Park.

Broadhurst Park in Moston is a diverse and varied green space in North Manchester. Really, we’ll be talking about Broadhurst Park, Broadhurst Clough and Broadhurst Fields on the show. Comprising everything from a formally laid-out park to wetland to football pitches, this is a fascinating patch that’s home to interesting flora and fauna, and which has a really interesting history. The Friends of Broadhurst were set up to protect and preserve this unique green space. They have also researched and shared stories of the park’s history.

I’ll be talking to Celia about the work the Friends do, the events they put on, and the research they’ve done into the history of Broadhurst Park, Clough and Fields.

In addition to this, I’ll be taking my usual look through Yesterday’s Papers. And you can pit your wits against the Who Am I? quiz – just how well do you know North Manchester’s landmark buildings?

Catch the show on Tuesday at 12 on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
