North Manchester FM: A Helping of History, Tuesday 19 November, 12-2pm

Tune in on Tuesday at 12 for another Helping of History on North Manchester FM. This week, I’m going to be taking another look in my folder of quirky oddities and curiosities – those stories that didn’t make the history books, but that offer a little slice-of-life from the past. As last week’s show was a Middleton Miscellany, I’m calling this week’s show a Prestwich Pot Pourri!

I’ve got a shocking tale of seduction from 1843 (with a bit of a twist in the tail), a festive treat for some older gentlemen, and sightings of an uncanny apparition. Even by my standards, today’s stories are rather strange!

As well as sharing my little Prestwich Pot Pourri, I’ll also be taking my usual look through Yesterday’s Papers on the show!

Catch the show on Tuesday at 12 on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).

Missed the show? You can catch it again here:
